Janid Ortiz holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Puerto Rico and has over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing, with 19 of those years in travel and tourism. Janid began her career in advertising developing award-winning campaigns for Playtex, Absolut Vodka, Sears, Honda, and Acura, among others. She then transitioned to marketing spearheading Verizon Wireless' efforts in South Carolina and Puerto Rico. Later, Janid spent 10 years with JetBlue Airways where she developed the voice of the brand and led the Latin American and Caribbean region as Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, overseeing 31 cities. Janid joined Discover Puerto Rico in 2018 and works with the public, private sector, non-governmental agencies, and small and medium businesses providing tools for growth, such as industry workshops and cooperative marketing programs. She also works hand in hand with online travel agencies, airlines and wholesalers to promote Puerto Rico in both US mainland and international markets. Janid is also a singer, actor, yoga teacher, Reiki Master, and rescue dog mom.
