Bio

Dr. LaVoy’s experiences in the business sector – working with TDS Telecom, Great Wolf Resorts and Hilton Family of Hotels – has afforded her the versatility to be an effective leader in the focused areas of adult learning concepts, customer service, leadership, strategic management, project management, communications, and organizational effectiveness. Living her passion in helping students to see possibilities and opportunities, Lynea currently serves as the Program Director and Full Time Instructor of the Hospitality Management Program at Madison College. Through her position there, Lynea has been instrumental in partnering with the Worksmart Network to create opportunities for disadvantaged students to gain access into the hospitality program through education and attainment of the Hospitality Certificate. Lynea serves on the Board for Literacy Network of Dane County as well as the Oregon Area Food Pantry. She additionally has held positions as an adjunct professor in Executive Communications and Doctoral Liaison at Edgewood College. Lynea is also the founder of LaLane Consulting, LLC and works with hospitality organizations in many areas of training.

In her spare time, Lynea likes to read and create memories with her family of 5. Lynea's children are the inspiration for her pursuit of teaching, talent management, leadership development, strategic partnerships, innovation and service. Her family is dedicated to education and serving others through social responsibility particularly with raising awareness to social awareness such as adult literacy, childhood hunger, and ALS (which is a disease her mother recently passed from).
